Looking for an opinion here. Back In the day, two Ace PK would create +2 team defence. Do you think we should return to this?
To help with this decision, know that only 35 of 717 players are Ace PK, and all are forwards.
I would modify the rule so that you could have +1 or +2 to team defence, and a max +1 to FC.
Thoughts?

its an interesting thought but I personally would wait until at least next year. we only just added back in the +1 defense rule so it would probably be a good idea to wait and see how that affects things before adding the possibility of 2 defense.

I'd lean towards the 2 Def as there is nearly no way to suppress any shots from a teams top PP unit. Nearly any time we're on the PP, you're going to be shooting on 4's and sometimes less. If there are only 35 of the 700+ players as PK aces, that makes their value very reasonable and if a team makes the required moves to acquire 2 of them AND then build a team that can support those 2, then they should get that benefit. Remember also that in some cases your PK Ace could be in the box or have just come off a shift which would mean we might even make use of our time outs for a change.
I assume the math supports the change to a +1 Team Defense rather than the + option? I always found the + a good way to occasionally spill some time off the clock, but if all # and I were converted, that may be too much I agree.

I'm with Daniel on this one. If you can get the two PK Ace it should be the +2 defence. The free forechecker is nice but really just counter acts the PP ace that I think everyone has.
My big question is around the avoid icing/infraction. Are those totally gone now? Liked that they were there last season (although I only hit it once all season even with a pair of ace PKers - more to the low number of PKs I had than anything else I think). Would propose something like banding the players who qualified for PK rating. Bottom quartile gets 7 points out of 216 for Avoid Icing/Infraction, 2nd quartile gets 11, 3rd quartile gets 15 and the top tier gets 19. Think it helps to differentiate those players who qualified for the PK from those that didn't yet won't flood the ice with "skaters" as the 19 points for the top PKers is lower than the number most PK Aces got last year.

The “+” result will not appear on the cards for 2024. I am leaning toward up to 2 PK counting +1 D each. Since passing can be successful on the PK, successful passes are equivalent to the “+” result if you choose to move time.

I think my preference would be for passing not to work, having 2 PK counting as +1 D and the skates still being there.
I don't want a good passer to be played on my PK simply because he has better passing, or even forcing someone to play a bar or two to prevent those passes. How does this affect the current PK Ace rating? Is it gone completely then?
