Game 1: Cremona @ Cole Harbour
Fresh off their first point of the year, the Butchers hosted the Titans, two teams headed in opposite directions on the season. A very exciting first period saw the visitors jump out to a 4-0 lead on goals from Matthews (PP), Rantanen, Ehlers, and Tkachuk. Sam Bennett potted his first goal as a Butcher on a broken stick and Ryan Donato got the home side within 2 going into the intermission. After that wild first period the teams settled down with only Alex Ovechkin finding the back of the net in the early third to seal the victory. Cole Harbour's modest, season long point streak was stopped at 1.
Final Score: Cremona 5 (49 shots, 9 IR) @ Cole Harbour 2 (26 shots, 2 IR)
Game 2: Cole Harbour @ Cremona
An early goal by Quinn Hughes gave flash backs to Cole Harbour's Head Coach and GM, but, amazingly, the Butchers got replies from Dellandrea and Hedman taking a lead for the first time in eight games. Auston Matthews tied the game early in the second, but the Butchers would not be denied in their quest for thier first win of the season. Goals by Tage Thompson, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Ivan Barbashev ballooned the lead to 5-2. Matthews got his second of the game in the closing moments, but it was not to be.
Final Score: Cole Harbour 5 (36 shots, 10 IR) @ Cremona 3 (50 shots, 8 IR)
After 14 games Cole Harbour reaches the trade deadline and sits at 1-12-1 for 3 points. Connor Bedard cannot arrive soon enough.
