Didn't want to cobble this onto an old thread.
When 3v3 with 2 forwards and 1 defenseman(usually only in OT) is the defense for Dn shots
a) the d ratings of the 2 forwards added b) the d ratings of the forwards-1 then added as they are OOP/playing point c) the d rating of the lone defenseman

The answer is C, "the d rating of the lone defenseman"
Your team defense against Dn shots depends on the configuration you've chosen.
1) If you've chosen "Forwards in the LW and RW positions and a defenseman in the C position", it's the D rating of the skater in the C position. 2) If you've chosen "Defensemen in the LW an RW positions and a forward in the C position", it's the sum of the D ratings of skaters in the LW and RW positions.
I could have done a much better job communicating this.
