Spends the whole draft pooping on Daniel Sprong and before long, he trades Sprong for McDavid. Consider myself vindicated.

Or a kidnapping? Blink twice if the bad man forced you to Sprong.

Now that I've seen a few people commenting I thought I'd drop in my two cents. 1. Love these deals for all the teams for different reasons: - Houston is rebuilding after winning the lottery. Traded an older Tavares for a top line winger. I might have held onto Sprong, but I can see he was necessary.
- Belfast is going for it. Dropped roster numbers for quality in anticipation of next years loss of Inactive spots.
- Cole Harbour trades his two best players at the height of their powers/value. Tkachuk not likely to be able to repeat playoff work, though we'll see about the regular season. McDavid may improve, but not to a new level like he did this past year.
We'll see if this is enough for Belfast. If it isn't, they'll still be competitive next year.

I actually had a choice to take an alternate deal without Sprong and the draft picks. I did consider keeping him I think his current card was just too good for this one year to not move him for value, and a 2nd and a 4th seemed reasonable. If he winds up lighting it up in Detroit I may well regret insisting on that.

Ultimately, McDavid had started a "No Connors" club. He was heard by management bragging about how he had only just managed to get that "bum" Kyle shipped to Oxford, and he would be damned if he was going to let Cole Harbour sink low enough to add another dude vain enough to use his name.
Once word was out the management was shopping McDavid, Tkachuk came wandering in and demanded that he be named Captain, or at least that is what we think he was drunkenly slurring. Moving him at that time just made sense.

I believe what he was saying was "I wanna go home...Cole Harbor is nothing like I was promised."
