Small data set (Oct.15) but like how Cremona is in first via normal standings but in third via alternate one.

What are the tiebreakers for the two systems?

What are the tiebreakers for the two systems? Roughly similar. Pts> GP > Wins > Goal Differential > Goals For
There's a HTH component in there but I didn't include since at this point it doesn't apply.
For the Alternate Standings I break Wins out as (Regulation Wins > Overtime Wins). I have a spreadsheet that ROW but I kept with the idea of encouraging offense (Uggh!) so gave even further wight to Regulation Wins over OT Wins. A definite point of dicussion if there is futuer pursuit of the Alternate Standings.

So neither uses the official rule. It would be good if one of them did. Current Rule: - Most points - Most wins - Most games played - Most points in games against each other - Regular season goal differential

Current Rule: - Most points - Most wins - Most games played - Most points in games against each other - Regular season goal differential I recall we had this fight last year. I do not recall there being a resolution to it. You were for Wins as the second tie breaker and Nash had Games Played since he wanted to emphasize playing games as being more important. As this is his league (NNHL) when it comes to league operations, he makes the call. Will let him weigh in to decide.
As it is, the point is also moot since the order would not be changed regardless of which system you use.

There is no argument. It’s in the rule book.

I don't care too much at this point.
When I emphasized games played, we sometimes had seasons with games not being played so some encouragement was needed.
I'm fine with going with what's in the rulebook going forward.

Sadly, Revelstoke has been eliminated from playoff contention and will finish no higher than 7th.
Sorry Mammoths.

Could this be the season we see both of our most recent teams make the playoffs?
Can the Solar Bears hold on to limp into the Cup Tournament?
Can Chelsea parlay its 10 games in hand into a playoff spot?
Cremona and Brandon could both finish with 29, Brooks could finish with 23, but would lose the tie break with Houston, Viking "could" finish with 28 points, Quad Cities can still finish with 22, Chelseas max would be 34, so assume around 26ish.
Those last 2 spots are going to be just like the NHL's East Conference final 2.
That speaks volumes as to where the game is IMO. That we've managed such parity with such disparate teams and builds, I think shows just how well Steve has this dialed in.
Great season this year gent's, best of luck to the GM's still in the hunt.

Guess that "we'll be competing for 5/6" prediction was on the nose and it was the ".. unless we move Tavares and Sprong" part that was in error ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Amazing how far you can get when you buggy-whip one good line and a stud goalie.

A big part of the success of “German Style” board games is that even players all but eliminated can still feel like they’re actively involved and “doing something”, as opposed to Monopoly or the like. So achieving little goals like a >.500 season and a round of playoffs is something to keep me going and justified the time and expense of travel.
The first step to building a championship will involve not trading assets good enough to crack a juggernaut’s lineup for detritus not good enough to crack an expansion lineup. Fortunately that’s an achievement it didn’t take me too much pain to learn.
