I usually don't comment on trades but here goes. Year | Games | Goals | 15/16 | 72 | 15 | 16/17 | 82 | 25 | 17/18 | 82 | 29 | 18/19 | 62 | 21 | 19/20 | 71 | 25 | 20/21 | 47 | 21 | 21/22 | 62 | 28 | 22/23 | 45 | 12 |
I am still trying to find Daniels' perennial 30 goal guy in these stats. He does have a proven track record of being injured for every one of the past 5 seasons though. Sure prorate the goals and 2 of the seasons are 30+ goals but he has averaged 58 games the last 5 seasons. To say I am taking all the risk is ridiculous, I am risking Vilardi isn't a one-off but Nash is risking a good young guy in the hope Ehlers will have some injury free years that produce a lot of goals. Ok, how about 28 goals then? 5 of his last 6? Quibbling about the absolute semantics of a post seems counter productive. You know what I meant. Ehlers has a much longer purview of his talent. 8 Seasons vs 1-1/2. Injuries can't be predicted, so when I evaluate a player I'm evaluating that he'll be relatively healthy, say 68+ games per season. All I meant was that Ehlers is expected to be a top line winger with well above average shooting, barring anything else. The hope is that Vilardi will emulate that, but it's not an expectation one can make based on any type of historical precedent. I'm not bashing either player, nor am I saying one of you "flubbed" the deal, I was merely giving my personal opinion on the transaction. Perhaps I should be more like Barry and refrain from putting my 1/2 cent in. ;-)

But we've all seen the young guys come from nowhere and disappear back into nowhere just as fast. I was going to ask if you were talking about Vilardi or Marchment.
