Game #1 Brandon @ Cole Harbour
The game got off to a rough start for the home side who were looking to force their way into the playoff conversation when Adam Fox went into the penalty box on some trumped up political crap 24 seconds into the game, vindication was his however when Jeff Carter potted his second shortie of the year. The lead did not last long however as the visitors got goals from Gustav Forsling and Steven Stamkos before the first intermission, a lead they would never look back from. Other goal scorers were Saad and Bonino (another shortie) for the Butchers while the Moose got powerplay markers from Amadio and Pageau while Skinner and Kuznetsov tallied at even strength.
Final score: Brandon 6 (37 shots, 8 IR) @ Cole Harbour 3 (41 shots, 3 IR)
Game #2 Cole Harbour @ Brandon
Anxious to make up for a poor showing in the first game of the series the Butchers seemed determined to end the season on a high note scoring late in the first (McDavid) and twice early in the second (Pacioretty and Bjugstad) grabbing a 3-0 lead. Brandon tried to fight back scoring on consecutive ticks thanks to butcher turnovers to Skinner and Forsling. Adam Fox restored a two goal advantage and from there the rout was on as the visitors got goals from Roslovic, Hedman, Tkachuk and McDavid (again). The Moose got late markers from Pearson and Skinner (again), but were never really in the game.
Final score: Cole Harbour 8 (47 shots, 15 IR) @ Brandon 4 (32 shots, 6 IR)
Of note: Cole Harbour came into the final series with two SH goals, and doubled that in game one.
Brandon generated 13 forechecking shots in the series, scoring twice on 5 IR attempts.
