That is a fun fact!
Also, for clarification purposes, I assume the forward on the point also looses any FC rating?

Wouldnt it make more sense to have their defense be 1/2 rounded up? So a 3 or 4 is a 2/2 and a 1 or 2 is a 1/1?
I'm just wondering if the -1 makes too large of a swing, from 0/0 to 3/3?
Not sure that a 4 defense forward, say a Brad Marchand, legit translates to a 3/3 defenseman. That doesn't seem like much of a risk to playing a forward on the point, even a 3 Defense guy is still a 2/2.

Playing defence is hard. I would support more penalty on D rating for forwards playing defence.

One clarification I was wondering about - besides the lower D rating, does the forward lose the A faceoff? I'm assuming they keep the +passing and lose their forecheck, correct?

Wait...why would he lose the A faceoff? His ability to win a faceoff has nothing to do with his playing position. Does Sid simply "forget" how to win a faceoff? They swing players in for just faceoffs and then go play other positions all the time, I dont think this should impact your A ability.

But he is a forward and he could be called to take a faceoff. He's not playing the whole game as a defenseman, and the faceoff is outside of the flow of the game, it's at the start of the time.
He'd still be rated a W or C, just in that spot, 99% of the time on a PP.
