Revelstoke 7 @ Cremona 3
A surprising Mammoths team dominated the shot clock and the score sheet, taking advantage of poor young Spencer Knight.
In the first period, Gaudreau opened the scoring barely 3 minutes into the first period, followed up by newly drafted Lucas Raymond two minutes later. Troy Terry scored one less than 30 seconds later in reply, but Gaudreau found the back of the net once again. Troy Terry tried to keep the Titans in it with another marker a few minutes afterwards, but the period ended with another newcomer in Dysin Mayo potting one with a minute to go in the period.
Seguin added to the lead early in the second, with a response from Matthews, but the third period belonged to the Mammoths, where yet another newly acquired player in Victor Olofsson scored, followed by Gaudreau's hat-trick maker to complete the scoring.
The Mammoths mustered 48 shots on Knight, with 12 high danger chances, while Sorokin faced 37, 7 of them in the dangerous variety.
Cremona 3 @ Revelstoke 5
Somehow last year's last place team managed even more shots on the Titans, this time taking 56 shots on net, while limiting Cremona to only 34. Matt Murray started the game, but had to be replaced by Sorokin as an errant shot (much like most of Matthews' all night) rang his bell and knocked him out. This time the Titans ran into massive penalty trouble all game, taking 8 penalties, and allowing the home team to score on half of them. Terry, Lundell, and Dahlin were the goalscorers for Cremona, while on the powerplay, Athanasiou, Raymond, Zibanejad and Matheson all accounted for the powerplay goals, and the lone non-powerplay goal by the Mammoths was scored by Seguin in the 3rd period to put things away. Shockingly, the Mammoths also managed to hold the high-powered Titans offence to 9 shots in the 3rd period, with 5 of them coming off their own sticks via forechecking shots.
Shots: 56 with 13 high danger chances for Revelstoke, 8 in 34 for Cremona (Matt Murray only faced 6 non-quality shots before he was injured and had to be replaced by Sorokin).
This series also brought about a bunch of questions:
Are there any limitations to how many rebounders can be taken in a row when the goalie continues to roll rebounders? Does time move?
Is there the ability to take an @ shot when at a disadvantage?
Is the & result any different if you are at an advantage?
Can you intercept a successful clearing result if the red die is a specific result, ie 6 or 1/2?
