Too long to post here. Read section 17.6 in the rulebook on page 39. Change proposed is:
Playoffs Proposed
My rule proposal is to remove the playoff appearance Stack for goalies and replace it with a simple number of starts formula and table so that GMs can pick the goalie they want to start and when.
The formula: =ROUNDUP(GS/10,0)+1
The Table
1-10 GS = 2 Playoff Starts 11-20 GS = 3 21-30 GS = 4 31-40 GS = 5 41-50 GS = 6 51+ GS = 7
And so it’s clear, GS = Game Starts = Roundup(Minutes Played/60,0)

Here's the thing about "playoff series" buckets: this table kind of suggests a gradual increase and gradual correlation between "NHL GP" and "number of playoffs GP", but of course, we understand that EVERY team has at least 4 playoff games, and 4-7 drops off significantly. Like, a goalie with 31gp will play 5 of 7 games, yeah?
Assuming equal 50-50 odds for every team: series goes 4 games: = 12.50% series goes 5 games: = 25.00% series goes 6 games: = 31.25% series goes 7 games: = 31.25%
So we see the average playoff series goes 5.8125 games.
And when a goalie who plays 31 games can go 5 of 5.8125 games, then surely we see how this rule that tries to give a linear value to each game played winds up skewing HEAVILY in favor of short GP goalies.
In addition to my prior "no bucket" philosophy, I'll have a proposal for you in my first year, but for now, I can't support something that ignores the very bell curve that our entire game is based on.

Rolling poorly on the stack can mean a good team out of the playoffs far too early. I support changing to a much simpler system.

I made an error and didn't include Barry's option. Will lock this and we'll revote
