I didn't expect going into this post season that neither Gaudreau or Tkachuk would be here any more, actually thought one of the two would stay. But to get Huberdeau, Weegar, a first (despite being later in years), and a prospect is a crazy return for Tkachuk.

I'd like to think that either Treliving is working on an extension now and/or a trade. Rumour is that some teams have already reached out about Huberdeau.

It is an impressive return, depending on what happens with both Hubredeau and Weegar, but even if they do not sign, both should fetch strong returns on the market. Personally, I expect Hubredeau to leave, but Weegar to stay. I base this on nothing, just my gut reaction when I saw the trade.
