Hey Men,
I'd like to hear some feedback on whether you can play guys tired. There is two aspects to this:
1. If you can play a skater beyond their allotted shifts (ie beyond 9.5 shifts) and if yes, what sort of penalty if any should be assessed. 2. Should players be able to play more than 1 shift at a time (ie double shift a guy) and what penalty if any should be assessed.
Right now there are fatigue penalties for any player who goes beyond their allotted shifts over the course of a game. Players who exceed 5 consecutive tics also earn additional fatigue against their total allottment for a game.

What exactly are wrong with the old fatigue rules? What are we trying to do by changing them?
I'll bring up Troy Stecher from two seasons ago. Ended up as a ten shifting D but for the first half of the season was averaging about 8 shifts and over the last month was averaging about 15. How was that reflected in the cards? Need to have that flexibility to deal with injuries in a game but the cards are an approximation of an average of what they did on any given game night not a set limit (or do we say Joe's reached his average shots for the game, everything else will be a pass or an interception?).

Current fatigue rules indicate that skaters may not play when fatigued. I don't think Nash is saying there's anything wrong with the old rules, but rather soliciting opinions on whether or not they should be changed. For reference, here are the current fatigue rules. Okay, makes sense. If this all there is for fatigue rules we do need more. Would like to see rule around tired players formalized (can't play someone two shifts tired until all players who are currently available to play that position are all one shift tired, and so on). Bring back the range reduction chart. Defense drops by one at the start of a shift on ice for every 1.5 shifts over. -1 to N at start of shift for each shift they will be over (second shift over is -2). -1 passing factor for every other shift over (P2 becomes a P1 on second shift over). Trying to figure how deep do you have to be to lose intimidation or forechekcing (4th shift?).
