While it didn't affect us as Steve crushed my dreams after game 1, I found it odd to have up to five games allowed otherwise the full 7, but no 6.
I would prefer to see all of the above, for example as now, anything below 60 is 5. But between 60-70 should be 6, not 7.
Definitely means potentially looking for good players that last the full season not just under 3/4.

The idea behind those levels is to try and represent two things, but they have to be combined into a single value. It is not necessarily a simple pro-rating of the regular season to the playoffs.
1. How injured was the guy in the regular season and it's impact on availability during the playoffs. 2. If a guy played a ton of games and was absolutely a regular on his team, if healthy in the playoffs he likely would play all games.
The idea behind the 60 game threshold is that any skater who plays that many games is likely in the core group of players and would likely dress all the games in a series unless seriously injured.
As far as the goalie limit, that will likely see some adjustment as NHL teams are going with the tandem a bit more than having a pure starter. However, the pure starters tend not to carry the high Save% so we need to look at a way to make a Carey Price more appealing than two 40 game guys in the playoffs. The new Goalie playoff goalie system is one of those ways, but adjusting the appearance numbers may have to happen as well.
