Oxford [6] @ 2 Houston Things didn't go well for Houston. - Oxford had 4 pp; Houston had 0
- Houston sustained injuries to Zacha (-2) and Soros (G @ 3:12 of the 3rd); Oxford had none
- Oxford took 42 shots, 11 hard vs Soros/Schmid; Houston took 28 shots, 4 hard vs Montembeault
- Daniel Sprong had 3 points (1g, 2a)
- Jake DeBrusk had a hattrick (1 pp, 1 es, 1 4v4)
- The theme of this game was "One shift closer to the draft."
- Unofficial CHL record set with 10 Center Home face-off results in the first period.
There was a lot of laughter during this game but closer to the end the laughs on the Houston side might have sounded more like the defeat sound uttered by Sideshow Bob. Houston 2 @ [5] Oxford Things improved for Houston. Briefly. - Houston came back from an early 2-0 defecit to tie the game at the 24 minute mark of the 2nd.
- There was passive-aggressive equilibrium until Oxford scored 3 goals in 1:12 early in the 3rd.
- Auston Watson was a minor force, leveling Jared Tinordi and failing to get a penalty for what was, by all descriptions, buggery.
- Oxford took 53 shots, 9 hard vs Soros; Houston took 35 shots, 3 hard vs Jarry.
- With those shot totals, Jarry didn't need to be good. He wasn't.
- Oxford's season is done: 15-5-1-1 with 96 goas for and 64 against.
The laughter was a bit more manic in this game as Charles was getting tired, but a visit by the Red Bull girls cheered him up once he got past the suspicion of underaged girls handing out energy drinks to middle-aged nerds.

Charles is going to be stranded in no mans land this year. Not in the lottery, and not in the playoffs. I savor this thought. ;-)
Oxford is going to be in the playoffs with his ridiculous goal tending tandem, I do not savor this thought.
