Change the rules so that on advantage, 4v4 and 3v3 the specific action code ("#" or "I") occurs when the 4th die is a 6, otherwise treat as an interception. Icings, off sides and pucks into the bench/over the glass are rare in these scenarios but they do happen.
Edit: Current Rule

This is a game mechanics rule and not up for voting. Rules guys can decide this.

I implemented the interception rule for # and I to try to keep the game moving during Advantage/4v4/3v3 partly because these events seem faster when watching a game and partly because at the time many skaters had a lot of # which, combined with an AA/A faceoff could kill a PK without requiring much skill.
If this is implemented on the existing red die roll, it might work just fine.
So, for advantage (6v5/6v4/6v3/5v4/5v3/4v3) if I roll a #, it's a possible interception. I check the red die. On a 1-2 the result is pass; on a 3-5 the result is interception, and on a 6 the result is #. That works.
4v4/3v3, as an example, would see a # converted to an interception, unless the red die is a 6. This works.
There's no harm in this rule, and I agree that stoppages and icing can happen in these circumstances. The effectiveness of Advantage is not impacted too much, and the result can be interesting.
I would go ahead and make this change.
