I think we can (almost) all agree that Chuck has had his tongue firmly in cheek for this entire thread. It’s a good look. He should model. Sprong! In the most significant way, yes. Obviously I am not earnestly requesting any trades be repealed, and in the impossible case it was actually offered, I would not consent to it. I think that the complete implosion of every player I acquired, and the continued excellence of every player I gave up, represents a significant failure of diligence on my part. But that's on my part. At some point, I will figure out what I missed about them. All of them, including Brossoit and including Meier. And this is probably just me importing some poker culture, where getting the better of someone is seen as a standard and understood bragging / grievance point in social settings. Mostly, I'm just disappointed that I invoke Jurassic Park and it got lumped in with Star Trek. Maybe the damage to the timeline has already been done? EDIT: Also, add "legit think Pettersson will be best player in league in short order" to the parts I'm earnest about

Only Sprong is worth that price. Sprong springs eternal. I can't believe you whiffed on "hope Sprong's eternal", as I'm sure you do looking at that matrix.

Not because I don't think I got fair value for him, but I'm definitely regretting trading away the player who easily could have been the first Sundog legend.

I don’t have the same Sprong in my step these days - I’m no Sprong chicken. Unfortunately your quality pun did not Sprong to mind. Perhaps my brain needs a Sprong cleaning, or it’s some sort of Sprong fever. Whatever it is, I’ll be ready to Sprong into action next time.

Not all trades are winners. We all do some we regret, but you have to keep trying to keep your team moving forward. I rationalize it by saying that I try and make trades that fill holes on my team, thus making it better even if I trade away the better guy. Cold comfort sometimes

I rationalize it by saying that I try and make trades that fill holes on my team, thus making it better even if I trade away the better guy. Cold comfort sometimes I have no problem with the logic behind moving the players I did. I think "X for Wish List X + change" type trades are not the ones rebuilding teams should be making. Trade up, move for draft picks, or oh well, I'll just let that 39 year old retire on the team. Being too logical for your own good is a thing, and sometimes, a touch of madness is leverage. So I don't think I should have made that kind of trade with two players good enough to crack the resident league juggernaut's roster. The Meier trade was much better, and I'm sure that once Meier has more goals than benchings, I'll feel better about it. But in principle, that's what I should have been doing with my other trade.

So who's the league's leading point getter, anyways? I forget. Haven't checked in a few minutes. Anyone know offhand?

Yeah, who was the idiot who traded that guy? after years of averaging under 300 shots each season, who would have thought he comes out gunning for 400 in the year, and potting goals at a higher rate?

You're very close. Only off by one position. It's almost impossible to win the Art Ross and the Selke Trophy. Closest to come to that I can reckon is glory-days Ron Francis. But Pottersson might just do it this year.
